With my binutils 2.10.1.0.7:
# cat x.c
extern int res_init;
int
main ()
{
return &res_init != 0;
}
# gcc x.c
/tmp/cc05Wbgf.o: In function `main':
/tmp/cc05Wbgf.o(.text+0x4): undefined reference to `res_init'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I believe binutils from CVS is ok.
