FreeBSD) porter I can say without hesitation that using GNU libc instead of
FreeBSD libc had a drasticaly positive effect on the porting effort. I'd
expect similar situations (e.g. GNU/Darwin) to behave the same, but you have
to actualy try and compare if you have doubts.
