Building a crosstool with source mods

Hi all,

I tried to retrieve the FAQ first, but with no success, so I apologize
if this is a perennial topic.

I'm trying to use Dan Kegel's crosstool to build a cross toolchain,
but would like to incorporate some source modifications of my own (to
gas and gcc in particular) in the build.  I can't find any
documentation how to do this.  Any pointers?
