Version tags in crosstool?

Subject: Version tags in crosstool?

Hi Dan, 

do you have an idea how to put some crosstool-version tag into the
generated toolchains? From time to time we have the problem that there
is a toolchain in /opt/crosstool and nobody remembers any more which
version it was built with.
