question about interrupt attribute

I am using arm-elf-gcc to compile sample code,
and got following message.
warning: 'interrupt' attribute directive ignored.

in code,
void MyIRQHandler(void) __attribute__ ((interrupt("IRQ")));

Why there is a warning message,
I built arm-elf-gcc from gcc-2.95.3 and newlib-1.9.0 according to the
billgatiff.com.
