I don't think there is a "automake@sourceware" list.
If by discrepancy you mean that the unsub methods are different, then
you are right. GNU uses something like majordomo -- send to
"automake-request@gnu.org". sourceware uses qmail, which is
different.
If that doesn't work for you, you will have to contact the FSF
sysadmins. I don't run the GNU list.
